Donna-Maree is a registered psychologist with more than 30 years of experience supporting individuals and families. Her career began in youth work and later child and family work, before becoming a Psychologist in 2011.
Donna-Maree’s interactions and work with clients is rooted in a strength-based philosophy. Her therapeutic toolkit includes EMDR, sensoriomotor psychotherapy, multisystemic therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), narrative therapy, play therapy and brief solution-focused approaches.
Donna-Maree is a member of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies and has trained extensively in trauma-informed care for infants, children, adolescents and adults.
She welcomes walk-and-talk sessions, particularly for adolescents, and creates a safe and inclusive space for First Nations people, those from other cultures, neurodivergent clients, defence force personnel and veterans, forensic populations, and members of the LGBTIQA+ community and has experience working with all these groups.
Donna-Maree is here to offer compassionate support through a wide range of challenges. These may include trauma from sexual, physical, and emotional abuse as well as the impacts of domestic violence. She can help you with anxiety, depression, OCD, insomnia, anger management and other forms of emotional distress. She also supports those navigating addictions, hoarding behaviours, relationship concerns, workplace issues, bullying, school struggles, chronic pain and menopause. Donna-Maree is also experienced in assisting those affected by natural disasters, and she provides space to gently process the psychological impacts, and begin the healing journey.
In her spare time Donna-Maree enjoys hiking, kayaking, photography, listening to live music and dancing, singing, handicrafts and cooking. She also plays the ukelele (novice).
